Creating a Handbook for Your Job!

Creating a Handbook for your Job: A Roadmap for Educational Duties

The original session description is as follows.

Are you a new teacher? Are you a veteran teacher who needs a little help remembering what you do from year to year? It’s time to create a handbook for your job! A handbook for your job is not just the regular description of your duties listed on your contract. It is a personalized, tailored resource for all of your responsibilities that you accomplish during the year. It is also a great reflection document so you have a record of what to do, and what not to do the next time you start a unit, or any other project. A comprehensive overview of how to create, maintain, and update a handbook for your job will be covered in this session.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to create a handbook they can use for reference when completing the duties of their occupation.

I Survived My First Year of Teaching...Now What?

The original session description is as follows.

First year teachers have to complete many responsibilities. However, after completing a first, or even second year of teaching in the same organization, a question may emerge. How does a teacher progress their career?

By the end of this session learners will gain an understanding of how to grow as an educator within a school community, improve professional development practices, and prepare for the next steps for a career in education.
